Call me potty, daft or insane but what about a Soapbox all day concert in 2007 (too late to organise for this year I think). A Soapbox volunteer has two farms local to Cranleigh so a field or two I'm sure could be made available. ATF2, Bang Bang, I know Willie Austen (local chap with his own band who has a big following) quite well and could get him. There are more Rock/Pop stars per square mile around here than anywhere so one or two of them could be approached to attend. I realise that something possibly this big would have to be put to the Soapbox Trustees first. Just thinking ahead to get into peoples diaries.

Dave

Hi Dave
You are potty, mad and insane but that's why we love you. Smile

I suggest you put this plan to my brother John at Soapbox.
I love the idea and Bang! Bang! I'm sure would be only too happy to grace it with our prescence Wink

Sounds like a lot of work to organise and I suspect my brother would be too busy as am I. But if some potty, mad and insane person wants to take it on all well and good. Cool

Nice one though Dave.

I've e-mailed John with a link to this forum so he can see what has been said so far.

No reply as yet from John, but I've had a word with David Tilley and e-mailed him the proposal, looking forward to meeting you on the 16th June.

Hi Dave

I spoke to John about it and he didn't dismiss the idea. In fact he thought that ATF2 may like to play at it. You heard it here first folks. Wink

It will be interesting to here what ol Farmer Tilley has to say about it.

I can see it now. Roast pork on the Barbie, the sun going down, red behind the trees and Bang! Bang! blasting out all over Granliegh. Cool Cool
Very Cool indeed. Cool Cool Cool Cool I'm quite looking forward to it. Hope it happens.

Cheers

Spoken to farmer Tilley.

Barnards Park will be made available for a concert (SoapboxAid?) The line up talked about (people we have contacts with) Bang Bang, ATF2, Gary Brooker (Procol Harem) Eric Clapton, Alvin Stardust and who ever else with that line up we can persuade to play Wink

We are talking BIG here, watch out Glastonbury !!!!!
